Cal. About 40. NSN. Bbl. 40", oct. Brass blade front sight and a V-notch rear sight. Unmarked Kentucky-style rifle that appears to have been converted to percussion. Double set triggers; the lock and hammer display a poor fit. Maple stock with curved brass buttplate and trigger guard. Brass-tipped hardwood ramrod is secured by a brass thimble and two pipes. CONDITION: stock shows a repaired break in wrist, further scattered cracks, dings, chips, and handling marks. Brass parts have a mostly dull yellow patina with scattered oxidation and dings. Balance of metal has a dull gray patina with scattered oxidation, pitting, and dings. Hammer is not holding at cock and will require attention to fix. Pitted bore with worn rifling. (01-26062/MJC).
