ON US INLAND M-1 SEMI AUTO CARBINE. Cal. 22/30 Oresky. S# 5422843. Bbl. 18 1/4". This custom carbine using the wildcat 22/30 cartridge was developed by Edward Oresky of East Newport N.Y. It is similar to the 5.7 MMJ developed by the late Melvin M. Johnson of WWII fame. These cartridges are very efficient and have almost no felt recoil making them a pleasure to fire. The 5.7 MMJ was available as a factory load but the 22/30 Oresky is a hand loading proposition only. This well made custom carbine is based on an Inland M-1 carbine with a newly made. 22 caliber barrel. The original G.I. sights are retained including the stamped aperture rear sight and the blade front sight with protective ears. Plain barrel band w/swivel. Straight cut slide. Flat bolt. Milled "INLAND" trigger housing with rotary safety. G.I. walnut stock set. Oval cut hi-wood buttstock marked with boxed "RIA / EB" and "P" proof under grip. 4 rivet handguard. MAGS: 1-5rd. converted from 15-rd. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2-die set of RCBS Group "G" dies in original box. Dies appear unused. CONDITION: stock set has a professional refinish over the usual wear and handling marks leaving a good appearance. Metal also has a professional blue finish with light wear and notable plum coloration of trigger housing and front sight. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands. (24-5314/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
