PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6774m. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM in 1918. Bbl. extension is marked "1918" over the chamber. Right side of bbl. extension, bbl., and left side of breechblock are devoid of any arsenal proofs or Imperial German Reichsadler proofs, possibly indicating that this example was reworked after WWI for commercial sales. Major metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with some smaller components including the takedown lever, trigger, safety lever, and ejector exhibiting a strawed finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension lug, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, and toggles. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: generic brown leather soft case. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Strawed components retain fair amounts of their period finish, exhibiting areas of wear that show through to spots of dark age related discoloration. Dark bore, exhibiting pitting and good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some scattered nicks and marks, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-771/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
