SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH FINNISH STICKER. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 3020. Bbl. 4 3/4". Model 1920 Commercial Luger mfg. by an unknown firm. During the early post-WWI era, DWM and many smaller firms created Lugers from whatever parts/components were available for commercial sales. In this instance and rather unusually, from an Erfurt P.08 Luger. Original military markings consisting of the year of mfg. and arsenal proofing on the bbl. extension have been scrubbed, with only the S# being marked on the left side. Toggle is marked with a crown over "ERFURT". Breechblock and toggles retain various Erfurt arsenal proofs. Frame is marked with a "PRI GARDEN CITY KS/ P08 30 LUGER GERMANY" import mark on the sides of the stock lug. Left side of the frame exhibits a sticker depicting a man with a spear and shield above "Pai-Ha" within a shield, above "Halvala/ 12.5.2007", possibly indicating a Finnish shooting club's (club based in Paijat-Hame) event in Halvala. Metal components exhibit a seemingly period reapplied blue finish, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Model 1900 pattern blade front sight with standard fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, safety bar, hold-open latch, bbl. extension, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, as well as the toggles. Safety lever appears to match, with only a "2" remaining partially visible. MAGS: 1 plated 8-rd. with unmarked aluminum plug. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their apparent period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of light to mild wear fading to gray patina (primarily on edges), scattered superficial handling marks, as well as small scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting. Straw parts have mostly faded to a gray patina, exhibiting some light pitting and spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show consistent mild smoothing, as well as some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (25-6049/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
