1) CARTRIDGE BOX. A good example of an M1864 cartridge box for a 58 cal. musket. The outer flap is embossed with a "US" in an oval. The inner flap is marked "A.D. LAIDLEY U.S ORD. DEPT SUB INSPECTOR" and "R.NECE PHILAD." Box is complete with both bottom buckles, closing straps, and rear belt loops. CONDITION: light to moderate wear overall. The closing strap has been repaired by adding a leather backing. 2) PISTOL BOX. A nice example of an Indian War pistol box that resembled a Civil War cap box. The flap is impressed with a "US" in oval. The inner flap has been removed and modified. Both belt loops on the reverse are intact. CONDITION: leather shows light wear overall.
