This interesting lot consists of 1 US M1858 cartridge box & shoulder strap by Gaylord. The black leather box has its original oval “US” plate on the front, and the inner flap is stamped “E. GAYLORD CHICOPEE MASS.”. Partial 1-piece tin is in place. Tab is complete but buckles on the base are detached. The buckles remain attached to the bottom of the shoulder sling of the box. Sling is complete with round US eagle plate. / 1 Civil War cap box with a partially visible maker’s mark from Newark, New Jersey. Box has both riveted straps on the reverse. / 1 M1851 sword belt plate on belt. Plate has an applied silver wreath and small tongue on the reverse. The plate is not original to this belt, as noted by the fit of the keeper. / 1 Small 5 1/2" priming horn. / 1 Brass container for 100 centerfire Winchester percussion caps. / 1 Bullion & wool 14th Corps sew-on badge. / 1 M1851 sword belt plate & keeper. Plate has an applied silver wreath. / 1 Pair of Civil War style Infantry Sergeant’s stripes of undetermined age. / 1 GAR lapel pin with two associated CDVs of a husband & wife. The husband is in uniform, and an included ribbon reads “20th ANNUAL REUNION OF THE 26th BATTERY O.V.I.” CONDITION: most items show light wear, except as noted above. CDVs are a bit faded.
