HARPER’S FERRY. Cal. 52. NSN. Bbl. 32 5/8”. This M1841 Hall rifle is nearly identical to the M1819 rifle, except for the breechblock release of the fishtail type. 4,213 of these rifles were produced by Harper’s Ferry from 1841 to 1842. The barrel has an offset blade sight matching the offset sight at the breech. The breechblock is marked “H. FERRY U S 1841”. Iron trigger guard, butt plate, barrel bands, nose cap, sling swivels, & ramrod. Walnut stock. CONDITION: barrel & breech have a cleaned gray, lightly pitted finish. Block mechanism functions well and the lock holds both full & half cock. Other metal parts have a cleaned gray patina with notable pitting around the nose cap. Ramrod is a replacement. Stock has a 2 1/2" crack to the right of the hammer. Otherwise, the stock shows light wear. (01-23169/BF). $1,500-2,250.
