Overall length: 35”. Blade length: 28”. Blade has a single fuller with a secondary fuller near the spine. The blade is etched over 15 1/2" with various foliate, nautical, and patriotic motifs, including a large fouled anchor, a spray of arms, an eagle, & cannon, as well as other attractive motifs. There is an etched mark near the ricasso that reads “W.H. HORTSMANN & SONS PHILADELPHIA.” Gilded brass hilt with pierced guard featuring oak leaves, acorns, and a large “USN”. Dolphin head knuckle bow and an eagle head quillon. Pommel has a similar oak leaf design, and the cap has a naval eagle.
