1) SWORD. Overall length: 41". Blade length: 34 3/4". Plain blade with a single wide fuller and a secondary fuller near the spine. Blade is marked on the ricasso "EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N.J." on one side and "U.S J.M 186_". Brass 2-branch hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip. Iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark, cleaned patina. Hilt is slightly misshaped and has a deep mustard patina. Grip leather shows wear but is complete. Wire wrap appears complete but is broken in two places. Scabbard has areas of oxidation and is missing its throat and drag. There is a small hole in the scabbard 12" back from the tip. 2) KEPI. A black Odd Fellows kepi with the crown and wreath insignia on the front and "PM 1st Battalion 1st Regt N.J." on the red crown of the kepi. There is a gold bullion band around the base and a heavy, tarred leather visor. The interior has a partial sweatband and partial liner. CONDITION: this kepi retains its form but is in poor condition overall. The chinstrap is missing, and the entire lining is quite tattered. (02-22876/BF). $350-500.
