Overall length: 32". Blade length: 26". Plain blade with a single wide fuller, marked at the ricasso "U.S.N. D.R 1862" and the Ames mark on the other side is unreadable. Brass, solid full basket hilt with leather grip. The quillon area is stamped "18M 318". Leather scabbard with copper rivets and brass frog stud. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Hilt shows numerous shallow dents and is slightly separated at the joint with the guard. Grip is 80% intact. Scabbard is complete but does show visible crazing. There is a hole at the bottom, but the bottom rivet is intact. (02-23113/BF). $400-700.
