The brackets support two leather sword straps with quick-release brass clips that are included with the rig. Included with the belt is a fine M1879 pattern holster for a Colt single-action revolver. The holster features a “US” embossed oval on the front and is marked on the reverse “WATERVLIET ARSENAL”. The rig further includes an excellent Dyer cartridge box with a “US” embossed oval on the front. The back of the box is marked “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL” and the interior of the box has two different inspector’s stamps. Lastly, the rig includes a pistol box in the shape of a cap box with an embossed “US” in an oval on the lid. The interior of the box has a wooden block with six holes for 45-cal. cartridges. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: please see page 756 of the Meadows book for similar examples. A copy of this page is included with the lot. CONDITION: belt generally shows light wear with very minor flexing. The sword straps also show light wear. The holster also remains quite solid, with notable flexing, particularly on the flap.
