Cal. 12 ga., 2 3/4". S# 26412. During WWII, the Ordnance Department purchased 12,174 Model 620A shotguns including trench, riot and training versions. Late production 620A's were actually marked "MODEL 620". Bbl. 20" cylinder bore. 6 Row handguard and bayonet lug with some visible plum color. Rear lug of barrel is marked with "F" inspectors mark, left of center with "P" over flaming bomb on left side. Front of receiver has "P" at top with "P" over flaming bomb on left side and "US" above trigger guard. Bottom of trigger guard is stamped "U". Left side of bayonet lug is stamped "S". Plain round forearm and pistol grip walnut stock with original buttplate. Web sling on original swivels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Remington Model 1917 bayonet. Right side is stamped with eagles head over "15", flaming bomb over "US" followed by "X". Green painted synthetic scabbard. Blade retains 50% parkerized finish. Scales have dark worn appearance. CONDITION: 70% dull lightly faded military finish showing slide and carry wear with scattered spotting and handling marks. Bayonet lug shows some plum color with evidence of touchup finish. Forearm has worn original finish showing small marks. Sanded stock has oil finish with numerous scratches and marks. Military markings have added white highlighter. Bore is generally bright with an area of generally light pitting towards the muzzle end. (22-4149/DS). CURIO. $2,000-2,750.
