3’ x 4’ double applique embroidered, WW2 era with Philadelphia QM label inside sleeve hoist. This hallowed institution was created in 1802 and began a long career of graduating some of the most famous names of Army and American military history. It is still the top school in the nation for cadets receiving an education and then graduating as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
This flag is their Organizational Flag representing the school itself. There are other flags and guidons associated with the school including a flag for the Corps of Cadets and Cadet unit guidons. Per the school regulations, the Organizational flag is never carried on parade.
The flag features the three colors associated with the academy, black, gray and gold. These colors were officially adopted by the school in 1899 primarily to represent the athletic teams of the institution. The flag is adorned with a Greek Corinthian helmet which is also used as a shoulder patch for cadets as well as Army personnel associated with the school.
