PISTOL. 67 cal. NSN. 10” barrel with no external markings, Roman numerals found internally cut into barrel, breech, and stock, “++VII” & “VIIII”. Lock has eagle over “U. STATES” & “S. NORTH / BERLIN / CON.” Brass furniture with 6” iron belt hook. There are numerous variants of this pattern as noted in various texts. This example appears original though reconverted but using original lock components. This is good looking War of 1812 era pistol that presents nicely and functions well. Metal cleaned. Mechanically fine with smooth clear bore. (01-21487/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
