PERCUSSION. Cal. 69. S# NSN. The 42" barrel with bayonet stud at top has "V" "P" and eagle head proofs at left rear. Musket has been converted to percussion using the Belgian method. Lockplate is marked with eagle and "US" in front of large round faced hammer; tail is marked "HARPERS" "FERRY" "1831". Walnut stock with low profile comb is iron mounted all parts bear the same assembly mark "C". Trumpet head ramrod is present. CONDITION: good. Metal parts show light cleaning with barrel having deep pitting around nipple. Other parts medium gray brown with light pitting. Stock is sound with many marks, dings and scratches. Inspector's marks not evident. Dark pitted bore. Lock is good. (01-25584/MGM). ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
