RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1241157. Bbl. 24". Replacement High Standard four-groove bbl., marked "H.S. (flaming bomb)" and dated "3-44." Ladder rear sight, graduated to 2850 yds., with volley notch. Sight base is Remington production without lightening the grooves. Blade front sight. Smith Corona 03-A3 replacement bolt, with Remington shroud and safety. All milled furniture, including smooth trap butt plate. Straight grip S-type walnut stock with walnut handguard. Stock has two recoil bolts and is marked on the left side with a boxed "D.A.L." and a boxed "S.A." over "S.P.P." Springfield Armory overhaul mark. Marked "O" in the cutoff recess and an encircled "P" proof under the grip. Grip is marked on the top with "23" rack number. CONDITION: stock set has been professionally restored over moderate wear and handling marks, leaving legible markings. Small missing chip on the left side of the toe. Metal retains 80% of its wartime arsenal rework finish, with very light wear. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands. (24-6619/RW). CURIO. $500-700.
