ASSEMBLED AS A HEAVY BARREL STYLE "T" TARGET RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S#1449906. Bbl. 30". This fine rifle was made to recreate the Style "T" target rifle using a receiver made in 1934. These rifles were developed in 1929 for issue to service rifle teams and for sale to civilian competition target shooters who needed the utmost in long range accuracy. Available from 1929 to 1932 they cost $85 dollars each, a substantial investment in the depression era. The heavy barrel is fitted with the correct Lyman 48 receiver sight. The slide is graduated to 125 points. Sight has the early style knobs. The aperture is fitted with an adjustable Parker Hale target disk. The removable aperture front sight is mounted in a modified "BAR" base which is correct for these rifles. The receiver ring and barrel are drilled and tapped for scope blocks which are not present. The bolt body, extractor and cocking piece are in the white. Reversed safety. Striker converted to headless type with cross pin. The black Walnut stock is the N.R.A. sporter type with the barrel channel enlarged for the heavier barrel. Checkered steel "shotgun" buttplate, two recoil bolts, military swivels and outside barrel band retained by a cross pin. UNNATTCHED ACCESSORIES: set of replaceable front sight inserts from Montana Vintage Arms one of which is installed on rifle. CONDITION: This rifle is in very nice condition with little or no noticeable wear or handling marks. The receiver has a plum coloration but all other parts retain a very good blue. Near excellent shiny bore. (23-5055/RW). MODERN. $6,500-7,500.
