& POLICE 2ND MODEL DA REVOLVER. Cal. 38 S&W Special. S# 25617 (US Navy S# 1647, mfg. 1902-1903). This revolver is a continuation of the US Navy Model of 1899 marked on butt "USN" over anchor "38 DA / NO. 1647" along with "J.A.B" John A. Bell inspector proof. Matching numbered 6" barrel, 6 shot fluted cylinder, & extractor. 4 Screw frame, rnd. butt, K frame with blued finish, case hardened hammer & trigger, and two piece checkered walnut grips. Barrel caliber marking "S&W 38 MIL". Arrow through "S" proof on butt, barrel, cylinder & yoke. Back strap has added rack number "35" CONDITION: good original blue finish mixed with scattered areas of brown patina along with numerous scratches & marks throughout; impact dents present on trigger guard bow. Grips have original varnish with numerous small gouges on both panels & crack on back of left panel. Very good to near excellent bore showing light frosting in grooves near muzzle.
