Cal. 30-06. S# 5917842. Bbl. 24". Barrel marked on right side "SA 9 55". Throat and muzzle gauge slightly over 2.0. Rifle has a very good appearance as arsenal reworked by Red River Army Depot. T105E1 rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA" except the trigger housing, which is "IHC". Replacement hardwood stock set. Buttstock is marked in cheek area "RRAD". Boxed "P" proof under grip. Small marking on left side over magazine consists of two hemispheres. Green web sling. CONDITION: stock set has very light wear and scattered small handling marks over its arsenal rework finish. Forend has fine crack on the inside between magazine well and barrel channel approximately three inches long. Crack does not extend through the stock and is not visible from the outside. Metal retains 80% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with light wear. Very shiny bore with sharp lands. PROVENANCE: copy of U.S. government bill of sale for rifle. Julian date appears to be February 4th, 1995. FM23-5 field manual. U.S. rifle caliber 30 M1 dated May 1965 and 14 photo-copied pages from "The M1 Garand Post World War II". (25-5231/RW).
