RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 803001. Bbl. 24" Marked behind front sight "SA" "flaming bomb" and "3-38". Rifle assembled on a receiver produced in 1918 with a 1938 dated barrel and an unused replacement "C" stock which has a tag dated 1957. Ladder rear sight w/o volley notch graduated to 2850 yards. Blade front sight with protective hood. Receiver has "Hatcher hole". Bolt with straight down handle has small gas port , punch "proof" under handle, and "8" "C" under safety lug. All milled furniture including smooth trap buttplate and narrow smooth trigger. Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked "S" in cutout recess. Two reinforcing bolts. Green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: U.S. marked "Case Individual Weapon Parachutist M 1950. O.D. Canvas muzzle cover US marked w/ VICTORY MFG INC. 1944. CONDITION: stock set is in near excellent condition with very light wear and tiny handling marks except for one small spot on the left side of the forend. Metal retains nearly all of its arsenal rework grey-green parkerization. Very good shiny bore. (24-755/RW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
