BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 230751. Bbl. 24". Replacement barrel marked behind front sight "RIA"/ "flaming bomb"/ "2-18". Rifle was manufactured in 1906. Ladder rear sight w/ volley notch graduated to 2850 yards. Dished adjustment knobs. Blade front sight. Receiver w/o "Hatcher hole". Bolt with straight down handle marked with "5" under safety lug. All milled furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. Early "S" straight grip stock has single recoil bolt. Stock has boxed "J.F.C." on left side. CONDITION: Stock has a lightly worn arsenal rework finish rendering the markings faint or obscure. Metal with light wear is a mix of blue and Parkerization. Good shiny bore with sharp lands.
