RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S#989011. Bbl.24". Barrel marked behind front sight "HS / flaming bomb / 11 44". Ladder rear sight mounted on later production base w/o lightning cuts. Sight graduated to 2850 yards. Blade front sight. Bolt with swept handle marked "BF 2 2". Milled smooth buttplate with replacement trap. Milled triggerguard, butt swivel and lower band. Stamped upper bands are from 1903-A3. Early "S" type stock with single recoil bolt and high wood. Lower clip is not present in handguard. CONDITION: Unmarked stock with arsenal rework finish has moderate wear with numerous dents and scratches. Cutoff recess has been modified with the removal of additional wood. Metal has mix of worn arsenal rework finishes from a long service life. Front sight attached to barrel by brazing. Very good shiny bore with sharp lands. (24-5390/RW). CURIO. $500-700.
