RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 440296. Bbl. 24". Marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 2-15". Receiver not drilled for Hatcher hole. Straight down bolt handle. Bolt is marked underneath handle w/ "K" & "T". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,850 yards w/ volley notch. Blade front sight. All milled furniture, including smooth trap buttplate. Upper band has been replaced by a band from a Model 1917 rifle. Stacking swivel is not present. Straight grip walnut stock set w/ single recoil bolt. Buttstock is unmarked except for refreshed "S" in cutout recess. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear & handling marks over added finish. Cutoff recess has been slightly enlarged. Metal is a mix of blue & parkerized finishes. Some of which appear to be enhanced w/ cold blue. Lower band has notable wear & fine pitting. Band screw has grinding marks at head. Upper band is gray & patina. Bore has worn lands w/ dark oxidized grooves. (25-2867/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
