RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 95454. Bbl. 26". marked behind front sight "W"/"flaming bomb" / "12-17". Bolt marked with "flaming bomb". Cocking piece and front sight base marked "W". Bolt shroud, Rear sight assembly and buttstock marked "E". Receiver marked on left rail with "eagle" acceptance mark and encircled star which indicates this to be an early production rifle kept for stateside use due to interchangeability issues. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1600 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. Scarce sheet metal follower which allows bolt to close correctly during the manual of arms. Unmarked walnut stock set. Kerr "NOBUKL" web sling. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: replacement buttstock has light wear and staining. Handguards are a darker hue with slightly more wear. Metal retains a large degree of an arsenal rework parkerization with light wear. Bore has moderately worn lands turning dark in the grooves.
