MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3449505. Bbl. 24", marked behind front sight "RA (flaming bomb) 1-43." Adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. Bolt handle marked "B F 39." Bolt shroud and mag. cutoff marked "R.". Stamped furniture includes a small bow triggerguard, lower band, and swivel. Milled, smooth buttplate has been given the stippling common to the Marine Corps issue. Milled upper band. Buttstock is a straight grip S-type with grasping grooves and two recoil bolts. The M1903- A3 handguard has been modified by sanding on the top contour. The stock markings are faint due to an arsenal rework finish. Vintage green web sling. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 15 3/4" fullered blade Model 1942 bayonet marked on the left ricasso "U.F.H. US (flaming bomb) "1943." Ribbed plastic grips. Green plastic scabbard, marked on the metal throat "US (flaming bomb)". Bayonet has light wear and areas of missing parkerization. CONDITION: stock set has light wear, staining, and handling marks. Metal retains a large degree of its original and arsenal rework finishes with light to moderate wear. Good, shiny bore with sharp lands.
