RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 2301925. Bbl. 24" marked on right side w/ partial "WP" proof. Throat & muzzle gauge 1.0. T105E1 aperture rear sight w/ replacement cover. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA" except bolt which is "HRA". Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on left side over trigger guard w/ partial defense acceptance mark & marked under grip w/ faint encircled "P". Green web WWII era sling. Date appears to be "1944". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 10" fullered blade bayonet. Blade was shortened from 16" Model. Marked on left ricasso upper case "PAL" in oval "US" w/ flaming bomb & "1943". Grooved composite grips. Green plastic scabbard. Metal throat marked with "US" in flaming bomb. Bayonet has been sharpened. Blade turning gray & patina. Balance of metal turned patina. Grips have heavy wear & handling marks. Scabbard over painted green w/ wear & flaking. 4 - 8 rd. clips. CONDITION: replacement stock has well worn finish w/ staining & handling marks throughout. Buttstock has crack on left side approx. 3" long from trigger guard to behind grip. Stock has added bedding compound showing hobbyist gunsmith type workmanship. Metal has 75% worn original finish w/ scattered handling marks. Good shiny bore w/ strong lands. (23-1398/RW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
