RIFLE CONVERTED TO 7.62 NATO. Cal. 7.62 NATO. S# 924708. Bbl. 24". This rifle, produced in 1942, was converted to 7.62 NATO by the addition of a chamber bushing, and the addition of a plastic spacer block in the mag. well to prevent the rifle from being loaded with the original 30-06 cartridges. The bbl. is marked on the right side "S-A-10-42" and has an added "7.62 Nato" marking enhanced in white. T105E1 aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. All major parts' markings are "SA." Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set; stock is marked on the left side with a boxed "SA GAW" and crossed cannons; there are additional crossed cannons at the end of the pistol grip, with an encircled "P" proof under the grip. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Certificate of Authenticity from CMP, dated "April 1, 2004," signed by Gary Anderson, a copy of CMP data certificate, an invoice dated "April 1, 2004," CMP instruction manual, and a Fulton Armory advertisement. Also included is a green web sling, open-bolt indicator, and one 8-rd. clip, all in a matching padded cardboard shipping box. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework-type finish, with moderate wear, staining, and handling marks. There are notable sanding marks on both sides of the stock below the receiver. Metal retains a large degree of its original Parkerized finish, with light wear and scattered spots of staining. Operating rod appears to have an arsenal rework finish. Very good, shiny bore.
