RIFLE CONVERTED TO 7.62 NATO. Cal. 7.62x51. S# 1049153. Bbl. 24". Rifle has been converted from its original 30-06 caliber to 7.62 NATO by the use of a chamber bushing. Additionally, a white plastic spacer has been installed in the mag. well to prevent the rifle from being loaded with its original cartridges. Bbl. is marked on the right side with "3-S-A-11-42" and "7.62 NATO" enhanced in white. Locking bar aperture rear sight with battle range elevation knob. Blade front sight with protective ears. National Match operating rod is marked "RA"; all other major parts' markings are "SA." Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on the left side with a Defense acceptance eagle, marked under the pistol grip with an encircled "P" proof, and has traces of the original white-painted rack number near the butt plate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: CMP Certificate of Authenticity, dated 2004, signed by Gary Anderson. Also included is an instruction manual, Fulton Armory advertisement, green web sling, 8-rd. clip, and an open-bolt indicator, all in a matching padded cardboard shipping box. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal-reworked finish, with wear and numerous handling marks. There is a notable dent on the left side of the butt stock. Metal retains 75% of its original Parkerized finish. Bore has strong lands, with a hint of frosting in the grooves. PROVENANCE: the Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (24-4681/RW).
