RIFLE WITH CORRECT FEATURES. Cal. 30-06. S# 2938831. Bbl. 24". Barrel is marked on right side "1-S-A-6-44". Throat gauges: 2.0. Muzzle gauges: less than 1.0. All major parts markings are "SA". Operating rod does not have the relief notch, but has the original square corner. Locking bar rear sight assembly. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set w/ arsenal rework finish. Stock markings remain visible & include boxed "S.A." / GAW". "Crossed cannons" & encircled "P" proof under grip. Early model 1907 style sling w/ brass hooks. CONDITION: stock set w/ its arsenal rework refinish has light wear & scattered handling marks. Receiver & bbl. have their original war-time parkerized finishes w/ thinning & light wear. Operating rod & gas cyl. appear to have been reparkerized. Bore has worn lands w/ frosted grooves.
