Rufus Eldred joined the USN in 1927. During WWII he served aboard the USS Clytie (AS-26), an Aegis class submarine tender. He survived the war and moved to Harrison, ME after retiring in 1952. This grouping includes his USN Submarine badge, a photo that reportedly includes one of the ship he served on, his Domain of the Golden Dragon certificate awarded March 19, 1945 for crossing the 180th meridian, & his Imperium Neptuni Regis certificate indicating that he crossed the equator March 4, 1945. CONDITION: overall very fine. There is some staining and old water damage to the equator crossing certificate. (02-26327/ZAL). NON-GUN. $200-400.
