Cal. 7.62x39. S# 00553. Bbl. 20 1/2" threaded w/ serrated protector. Approved by ATF in late 2003 Vector Arms started manufacturing this closed bolt civilian version of the iconic RPD (Ruchnoi Pulemet Degtyarev). Once bearing the distinction of the lightest squad auto in existence, this variant weighs in at only 17 lbs. unloaded. It is chambered in 7.62x39 & has been extremely popular among recreational shooters since its introduction. Fed from 50 rd. non disintegrating metallic belts that feed from an appropriate sized drum that are both readily available on the surplus market. The top cover & even the belts loosely resemble similar period German firearms, though there is nothing interchangeable & are completely different designs. Gas operated firing mechanism w/ a complicated but reliable push through feeding system. Right side controls & right side non reciprocating folding charging handle. Matte blued metal finish. Partially hooded protected post front sight. Tangent rear sight, elevation & windage adjustable from 100 to 1000m. Sight radius 23". Folding front bipod. Laminated hardwood furniture. Left side sling attachment points. MAGS: 1-100 rd. drum w/ 50 rd. belt & starter tab. CONDITION: all outward aspects indicate very little use if any. Bluing on exposed surfaces is uniform & complete w/ light wear only to areas of mechanical interface between receiver & charging handle. Shiny bore w/ strong rifling. No noticeable blemishing on furniture. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. (24-5214/JZ). MODERN. $2,500-4,000
