EXTRA GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 7635. This finely crafted gun has 28" chopper lump barrels with slightly raised matted rib. Tops of barrels are engraved with steel type and maker's name and address. Barrel flats are stamped with 1982 Italian nitro proofs. Coin finished H&H style sidelock action features non-automatic safety, bushed strikers and non-selective single trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with a very striking mix of small scroll surrounding fronts of lockplates which also extends to full coverage on fences. These plain fields are gold inlaid with Bulino renderings of game birds. A pair of mallards are on left lockplate and pheasant are on right. Bottom of action has gold and silver inlay with gold woodcock flying past a silver birch tree. Maker's name is in gold on each lockplate and a crown is in gold on top lever. Single beaded trigger guard with matching small scroll on bow, has S# on tang. This fine engraving is signed "GRANETTI" on trigger plate. Very finely marbled and lightly figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8" over brown leather covered pad. Very closely spaced point pattern checkering with mullered borders is on grip which also has right hand palm swell.
