Overall length: 13 3/4". Blade length: 9”. An aesthetically beautiful dagger of simply superior workmanship. The blade has a straight hamon and a silver-plated habaki with diagonal striations. There is one seppa above and below the enameled tsuba. There is a silver-plated fuchi and kashira on a tsuka made from polished ray skin. There is a two-sided push button near the base of the grip. The center of the grip has a gold mon. The saya is beautiful red enamel over wood with a darkened metal tip and carrying ring, and a black lacquer throat. There is a tiny gold-inlaid kogatana in the saya. There is a purple silk cord attached to the saya and purple silk bag protecting this extraordinary kaiken. CONDITION: the blade has a superb polish and there is hardly any wear to the habaki. The entire tsuka shows light wear, and the saya has minor enamel loss at the bottom edge.
