DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45 Govt (45-70). S# 964. Bbl 28" octagon. Combination front sight, sporting rear sight with unusual tang sight having a large disk aperture and knurled adjustment ring. Full length tubular magazine. Original finish is blue and case color. Left side of receiver has engraved inscription "John R. Hughes". Forearm and straight grip stock of fancy European stock with point pattern wrap around hand checkering, sling swivels and steel shotgun style buttplate. CONDITION: metal has faded to a light gray/brown showing scattered spots of corrosion. Wood shows finish and checkering wear with scratches and marks. Sound action. Bore retains strong rifling showing small spots of very light pitting. (01-26607/DS). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
