ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 190190. Bbl. 24". Replacement barrel is marked behind front sight "SA / flaming bomb / 1-16". Receiver produced during 1905 & has not been given the Hatcher Hole. Ladder rear sight w/ volley notch. Dished windage & flat elevation knob. Blade front sight w/ sight cover. Replacement bolt w/ swept handle. Bolt is electro-penciled under handle to match. Bolt handle marked on top "B / 26". All milled furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. Straight grip stock has two recoil bolts & grasping grooves. Well-worn model 1907 sling marked "M.D.C. / H&P. 1918". CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework finish. Buttstock has extensive wear, scratches & handling marks. Markings rendered very faint due to reworked finish. Handguard appears to be replacement. Metal has mix of worn finishes. Receiver has traces of original blue, turning gray. Bbl. appears to have original blue as well as lower band & butt swivel. Balance of metal has arsenal rework parkerization. Bore has dark frosted appearance w/ worn lands. (25-964/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
