AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 906506. Mfg. 1943. Within S# range 906,000 - 916,400, the "M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY" marking was applied to the right side of frame & slide. This also includes 2 flaming bomb proofs: 1 on slide under firing pin retainer & interior of frame in recoil spring channel. High Standard 5" barrel. Type C sights. Checkered hammer spur. Serrated slide lock & safety tab. Short trigger. Long grip safety. Keyes Fiber brown grips. MAGS: 1 Ridson 7 rd. mag.; very good parkerized finish with friction wear. CONDITION: very fine with large portions of original of parkerized finish remaining. Grip straps & top of slide shows scattered spots of brown patina. Forward edges of frame & slide show edge wear. Interior portions & portions of frame covered by grips show dried grease. Barrel has good original blue showing cycling wear. Very good grips with 1 sm. gouge below top left panel screw; grip screws show worn finish. Very good rifling with light frosting extending from muzzle. (25-5178/MD). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
