Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1030796. Mfg. 1943 within S# range 916405-1041404. Based on "U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945" by J.C. Harrison, this pistol appears to have all correct era parts seen within S# range 995000-1041404 including Type 3 slide markings, High Standard 5" bbl. & Keyes Fiber grips. Left side of frame has "FJA" Colonel Frank J. Atwood inspector stamp. MAGS: 1 General Shaver Div. 7 rd. mag. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Proteca-gun box w/ wax paper. CONDITION: over 85% original parkerized finish mixed with brown patina on forward & top portions of slide, bottom surfaces, grip safety & front strap portion of frame. Right side of slide forward of ejection port has spots of light pitting. Frame has light scratches from slide lock & scattered light marks on slides & frame. Mag. has over 80% original blue showing wear, marks & streaks of patina. Very good grips. Barrel has over 85% original blue showing light wear from cycling. Very good bore showing the light appearance of frosting. (25-2418/MD). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
