AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1055145. Mfg. 1943 within S# range 1041405-1096404. Based on "U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945" by J.C. Harrison, this pistol appears to have all correct era parts including High Standard 5" bbl. & concentric ring barrel bushing. Keyes Fiber checkered grips are scratched into backs "CAL. L0662 / 136-D 1945" appears to be a soldier's notes. MAGS: 1 Scovill 7 rd. mag. Mag. has over 75% original finish with wear. CONDITION: slide has over 90% original Du-Lite over bead blasted finish showing edge wear & spots of patina. Frame has over 60% original Du-Lite over bead blasted finish with front strap & bottom of triggerguard brown patina appearance along with bottom forward portions of frame having series of sm. punch marks, wear spots at serial number & inspector proof. Grips have good appearance showing large areas of wear on panels commensurate with left handed shooter. Barrel has over 50% original finish with cycling wear. Recoil spring has bent forward of plug. While trigger is blued rather than bead blasted, appears correct for the era & has consummate wear. Bore is shiny with lightly worn rifling & light frosting. (25-3540/MD). CURIO. $4,500-6,500.
