AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1647401. Mfg. 1944 within S# range 1609529-1743846. Based on "U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909-1945" by J.C. Harrison; this pistol appears to have all correct parts including Colt 5" barrel & Coltwood grips. Post War British commercial sale proofs that include: London crown "V" proofs on right side of frame & slide, London Nitro proofs on barrel & "NOT ENGLISH MAKE" proof on right side of frame forward of S#. MAGS: 1 M.S. Little 7 rd. mag. made for Colt with "C-L" stamp. CONDITION: very fine. Over 90% original parkerized finish showing brown patina streaks on slide, scattered light handling marks & oxidation spots on slide & within mag. well. Slide lock has deep mark. Very good grips with a few flattened diamonds. Very good mag. blue showing streaks of finish loss. Over 90% original barrel blue showing light cycling wear. Very good bore with strong rifling.
