LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32RF. S#. 102794. Mfg. 1894. The 2nd variation 1891 is differentiated from the 1st variation with changes that were made to the loading process with the 2nd variations being tube loaded rather than side loading 1st models. This model has a 2-piece trigger & sear. It is fitted with a 24" round bbl with dovetailed German silver blade front sight, elevator adj sporting rear sight, & second variation bbl address " MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT'D NOV. 19. 1878. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 12. 1890. MARCH 1. 1892.". Full length magazine. The top of the straight grip frame is marked "MARLIN SAFETY". Fine checkered hammer. Straight grain walnut stock set with smooth crescent steel buttplate. CONDITION: Overall very fine. The bbl and mag tube retain over 95% of their lightly thinning original factory blue with nice crisp bbl address. The frame has 95% of the original blue remaining with some light wear around the takedown connections on the right side. Lever and hammer have 90% of their lightly thinning vivid case colors. The stock set is nice with scattered light handling marks and a few dents. The forearm is sound with good original factory varnish. The butt has some minor edge chipping around the frame & buttplate areas, but other wise sound with good original factory varnish. Buttplate is good with a dark mottled smooth patina.
