JAEGER FLINTLOCK RIFLE. Cal. 42. NSN. 42 1/2" Overall. Bbl. 28" oct. swamped w/ inset brass blade front sight & sculptured notch rear sight. Brass mounted w/ wooden patch box. Tapered & beveled lock is marked forward of cock “BUMANN / A LIND”, 3 screw sideplate. Stock is finely relief carved. Horn nose cap & ramrod tip both have matching bone inlays. Dbl. set triggers, front sling swivel & rear sling engraved stud. This rifle was brought to America by a World War II veteran as a souvenir. UNATTCHED ACCESSORIES: collector notes. CONDITION: very fine overall, appears complete & original. Bbl. & lock are gray/bright smooth patina. Brass has medium mustard patina. There is an interesting dovetailed extension of tail of trigger guard which appears original to its manufacture w/ dissimilar patina. The stock is also very fine w/ areas of raised grain, carving is crisp, hand worn patina. Mechanically crisp including “hair trigger” dbl. set triggers. Bore has crisp shiny rifling.
