Cal. 36. S# 23610. Bbl. 5 1/2” w/ New York address & brass blade front sight. Five round fluted rebated cyl. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished brass grip straps. 1 Piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1863 during the American Civil War. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: period style presentation case w/ rectangular brass plate in lid. Blue velour fitted interior showing light wear. Case contains small American eagle flask, 2 cavity mold, nipple wrench, cap tin, case key & round balls. Also included is one five round package of combustible envelope cartridges. CONDITION: very fine. Bbl. & cyl. retain over 85% lightly faded blue showing carry wear & spots of freckling. Frame, loading lever & hammer retain over 60% nicely visible case colors. Grip straps have faint traces of dark silver remaining in protected areas. Grips show light wear & handling marks w/ small chips at butt. Crisp action. Bore retains strong rifling showing small spots of pitting. (01-22861/JB). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
