1286 VERY FINE CONDITION U.S. WWI BELT AND HOLSTER FOR

MODEL 1911 COLT PISTOL. This 1917 & 1918 dated set appears to have seen little or no service use & has very good appearance w/ legible markings. The set appears to be the one pictured on page 772 of U.S. MILITARY HOLSTERS AND RELATED ACCOUTREMENTS by Edward Scott Meadows. The holster is russet leather marked "U.S." on flap & marked on back of belt loop "WARREN LEATHER" / "GOODS CO." / "1918" / "J.A.O.". Holster has brass finial to secure flap & is reinforced w/ brass rivets. Equipped w/ both belt loops & Model 1910 belt hook. Tip of holster has raw hide tie down throng. The Model 1912 pistol belt is khaki. The brass parts have "Mills Bronze" subdued finish. The tongue has a brass tip marked "MADE BY" / "MILLS WOVEN CARTRIDGE BELT CO." / "WOCESTER MASS U.S.A.". Khaki two pocket magazine pouch w/ "lift the dot" fasteners. The pouch is marked inside flap w/ "OCT. 1918" / "MILLS" cartridge logo / "PAT JULY 16, 07". Pouch has pleated pockets & is retained in place on belt by single snap. First aid kit consists of canvas pouch secured by two plain snaps. Pouch has greenish hue & is marked inside flap "THE M-H CO." / "9-19" and also marked "LBT". Pouch contains brown painted brass first aid packet. Sealed packet markings include "U.S. ARMY" / "BAUER & BLACK" / CONTRACT NOV 2-1916". CONDITION: overall condition of items is very good. Holster has very light wear and scattered sm. handling marks. Web & canvas items show a very sm. amount of wear plus scattered light staining which is most notable on back of mag. pouch. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Edward Scott Meadows.
