EJECTOR HEAVY GAME GUN WITH CASE & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 18066. The 26-1/2" chopper lump barrels fitted with narrow, matted, slightly swamped rib are gold inlaid "Charles Boswell" "15 Mill Street Conduit St. London W1" in English script on tops. Barrel flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Case hardened boxlock action with intercepting safety sears also features automatic safety ("SAFE" inlaid in gold), hidden third fastener, side clips and double triggers. Action is engraved with near full coverage very nicely cut scroll with rose bouquet highlights. "Charles Boswell" is gold inlaid on both sides. Fences are more deeply engraved with large shaded scroll. Trigger guard with beaded edge is also scroll engraved; S# is on tang. Straight grip buttstock of well streaked European walnut measures 13-1/4" over original checkered wood butt. Stock also features well shaped drop points, flat top checkering and a gold oval engraved "H.C.W.". Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .727. R .727. Restriction: L .032 (full). R .003 (IC). Wall thickness: L .033. R .033. STOCK: DAH: 2-11/16". DAC: 1-7/8". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 13-1/4". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 0 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is accompanied by its original leather case with stitched leather corners which is embossed "H.C. WARD" on top. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth and a Boswell paper label is in lid. Case contains snap caps and square oil bottle by Hawksley, cleaning equipment and two keys. CONDITION: very fine as partially refinished. Barrels retaining nearly all of a very professional re-black. Action retains about half of its original case hardening color. Top lever, floor plate and trigger guard retain most of their original blue. Stocks retain most of their original oil finish. Bores are bright and shiny; action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time. A 3/16" x 5/8" chip of wood is missing from upper right rear of forend. Case leather is still light in color and has some scratches and marks. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth is good, label lightly foxed and soiled. Accessories are good. (24-2181/MGM). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
