Cal. 50 smooth bore. NSN. Bbl. 43 3/4" full oct. Overall length 59". 4 Piece brass patchbox & is nicely signed on the top flat of the bbl. “S MILLER” in script. Appears to be original flint. Beautiful high quality curly maple stock is nicely incise carved behind cheekpiece. Trigger is curled over at the bottom, similar to many earlier rifles. This rifle is attributed to Samuel Miller. Samuel Miller was originally from the Hamburg, Berks County area, but later relocated to the upper Susquehanna area. CONDITION: overall, this rifle appears to be in extremely nice condition throughout. Fine overall, smooth patinas, stock is sound, well fit & appears unmolested other than probable changed vacant oval silver thumbplate. Mechanically fine w/ clear smooth bore.
