Cal. 52. S# 58135. Standard configuration 1859 New Model Sharps carbine with hinged iron toolbox, 39" overall with 22" barrel, adjustable Sharps rear sight, Sharps patent markings on barrel, lock, and frame. Carbine has been arsenal refinished with new wood. Buttstock has 2 bright late war cartouches "AWM" and "TWB". Small "AWM" inspection on top of comb, and "DFC" postwar cartouche on left buttstock rear of sling bar. This is a very fine survivor of both Civil War and Indian War era. CONDITION: excellent overall, complete & matching, metal has traces of blue and case colors, stocks with raised grain, crisp inspection marks, mechanics fine, fine rifled 6 land & groove bore.
