CASEHARDENED DELUXE MODEL 1873 RIFLE.
Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). S# 180207A. Bbl. 24" octagon. Globe front sight having circular disk post interchangeable peep, original elevator adjustable rear sight and Vernier tang sight. Full length tubular mag. Action, lever, forearm cap and crescent steel buttplate are case colored. Brass cartridge elevator is nickel finished. Single set trigger. Forearm and pistol grip stock with ebony insert of fancy walnut have style H factory checkering. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly number “498” followed by wood grade marking “XXX”. Top tang channel of stock has matching “498” assembly number. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Cody firearms record check stating: "Type: Rifle / Caliber: 32 / Barrel Type; Octagon / Trigger: Plain / Checkered stock, Pistol grip / Casehardened / Received in warehouse on May 09,1885 / Shipped from warehouse on May 09,1885, Order number 20383 / Set trigger On May 17, 1886, order number 6202". CONDITION: action and forearm cap retain over 70% light and fading case colors. Action shows spots of very light corrosion. Buttplate shows traces of case colors blending with areas of corrosion. Cartridge elevator retains 30% nickel finish. Bbl. and mag tube retain over 80% lightly faded original blue showing slight edge wear. Wood has original finish showing areas of wear and age darkening with scattered scratches and marks. Sound action has functioning set trigger.
