WITH CORRECT PERIOD SCOPE. Cal. 220 Swift. S# 42029A (1935). Made with 26" Winchester proof steel barrel with correct markings on left side. Typical model 54 action with unaltered bolt is fitted with Lyman 48 receiver sight and Griffin & Howe side mount holding Hensoldt Duralyt 6X scope with crosshair retical in G&H rings and base with windage adjustment. Pistol grip stock is checkered at grip and forend and is fitted with steel buttplate. Rifle sports an old leather sling. CONDITION: very fine. Metal retaining over 95% original blue with most loss on bottom metal with some scratches on floorplate and silvering on trigger guard bow. Bore is shiny with sharp rifling throughout. There is scant evidence of throat erosion. Scope is also very fine. Optically clear. This combo in 1935 would have cost $75.95 for rifle and Lyman 48 sight with an additional $60.00 for Hensoldt scope and G&H mount. (24-5909/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
