WITH CASE. Cal. 36. S# 97086. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon w/ Hartford address & cone style sight. Round six shot cyl. w/ naval engagement scene roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished brass grip straps. 1 piece walnut grip. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., loading lever & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1860. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added old casing. Lid has screw fastened brass plate marked "Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manuf'g Co/Hartford, Conn. U.S. of America.". Inside of lid has faded paper label w/ directions for loading & cleaning. Green baize fitted interior shows wear. Case contains navy size powder flask w/ double eagle & panoply of arms decoration, 2 cavity Colt patent mold, nipple wrench, oil bottle, turnscrew, slotted tip cleaning rod, cap tin, spare main spring, trigger, nipple, and hand, case key, round balls & bullets. Case lid has large cracks extending from each side. CONDITION: very good overall. Metal has mottled gray/brown patina with traces of finish, good cly. scene. Brass grip frame has over 50% dark silver finish. Grips retain most of their orig varnish, heavy edge wear. Sound action. Bore retains strong rifling, small spots of pitting. (01-22835/JSB).
