ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 88667. S#s match on receiver, bolt and bayonet lug. Bbl. 25 1/2". "Mum" has been defaced with 2 perpendicular chisel cuts but is largely visible Type 99 characters are in tack. Left side of receiver marked with Kokura Arsenal circles. Ladder aperture rear sight with AA wings graduated to 1500 meters. Inverted V front sight with protective ears. Bolt has oval knob. Checkered notched safety knob. Dust cover with stop. 24" Cleaning rod. 3 Screw upper band with bayonet lug. Open top lower band. Monopod is present. Original brown leather sling with brass buckle. Hardwood stock set. Full length hand guard. Small recoil bolt. Two screw butt swivel. Cup type buttplate. 2 piece buttstock construction. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 15 5/8" fullered blade bayonet. Marked on right ricasso with Nagoya Arsenal circles. Curved quillon. Hardwood grips retained by two screws. Steel scabbard. Unmarked leather frog. Retaining strap does not fit correctly. Bayonet retains a large percentage of its original blue finish. Grips have staining and moderate handling marks. Scabbard has most of its original blue with small areas of oxidation. Frog has light wear and flexing. Stitching is tight. Original olive colored plastic muzzle cover. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear and handling marks. Two notable gouges on right side in front of grip plus scratch on edge of grasping groove. Metal has 80% original blue finish with light wear and handling marks.
